LiSN-S PGA Test Condition

The software's specific LiSN-S PGA test module is used to assess the difference in speech in noise ability between a specific patient and an average patient of the same age who has normal hearing. For this the High Cue SRT test (below) is used and pure audiogram data are used to compensate for the hearing loss during testing.

The competing noise is composed of different voices than that of the target speaker, and these noises come from the left and right sides. This gives the patient several aural cues to help him or her filter out and identify the target speech. The result of this test is called the child’s ‘high cue speech reception threshold’, or ‘high cue SRT’.

How does the software work?

1. An intuitive database module is used to enter and edit client details.

2. The pure tone audiogram data are entered by clicking directly on the chart.

3. In the playback screen the audiologist enters the number of words correctly repeated by the patient.

4. Clear reports are then generated by the software. These show whether a patient is within or outside normal limits before providing recommended technology solutions where appropriate.
