Which remotes are compatible with the product?

Eleva can be used with the SoundPilot, KeyPilot, or WatchPilot2. The SmartLink can also be used as a remote control.

How many programs does the product have?

Eleva has 3 automatic programs in the TriPilot (calm, speech in noise and comfort in noise). There are also 2 Easy Programs (EasyPhone and EasyFM). In addition, there are 5 additional manual programs that can be accessed through the tactronic switch or the remote control. Three can be used for any configuration and two are for FM, t-coil, or mute.

What is the program switch design for the product?

Custom aids and BTEs (except micro) have a push button. It presses in to change programs and then pops back out.

What are the volume control options?

The standard VC is the new ergonomic design on the BTE. However, with each BTE two other field changeable VCs will be sent. One is a smaller less visible toggle switch VC the other is a VC plate if the user prefers to have no VC.

Is there a start-up delay?

Yes, there is a start-up delay option in the hearing instruments options screen in End Fitting. There is an option of 9 seconds or 15 seconds. The aid will turn on initially, then will mute for the time chosen.

What is the low battery indicator on the product? Can it be turned off?

The end of battery life beep cannot be turned off. Digital Bionics products end-of-life battery life process is as follows:

Once a low voltage level is reached, an acknowledgement beep is heard and DataLogging is turned off. This beep is, in fact, 2 beeps separated by 2 seconds. The hearing instrument is muted between the two beeps. As battery current falls further, every 30 minutes a beep will be heard, reminding the wearer to change the battery. If the battery is not changed and the battery current reaches a critical level, one more end-of-life beep is heard, all manual controls are disabled and the power-down process is started. This process involves a decrease in gain of 5 dB, every 10 seconds. After this, if the battery has not been changed, the instrument will turn off.

How can the door be tamperproofed?

The Eleva tamperproofing is the same style as the eXtra, Una, and Certena. A replacement nameplate and battery door are used to tamperproof the Eleva. A paperclip or similar item is used to release the tamperproof mechanism. To re-engage the tamperproofing, simply push on the nameplate.

What are the confirmation beeps for the product? Can they be turned off?

The Digital Bionic products offer a range of acoustic acknowledges, or beeps. These can be changed in terms of frequency and loudness. Within the schematic, acoustic acknowledges are inserted before the gain model, therefore the beep loudness is hearing loss dependent. Limiting (MPO) is applied to and affects the loudness of the beeps, too. Turning the beeps off applies only to manual interventions, not to the AutoPilot melody, warning beeps such as end-of-life, different input source (EasyPhone, EasyFM) and max/min volume reached.

Is the product compatible with FM?

Eleva BTE’s (except micro) are compatible with the ML9i receiver. The AS9 audioshoe can also be used with a universal receiver. The MyLink will also work with all Eleva models with a t-coil. The battery door will need to be changed to the FM battery door for use with the audioshoe or receiver.

Is the product available as a Cros/BiCros?

Yes, the Eleva BTEs (except micro) can be used with either a wired Cros/BiCros or a wireless CrosLink System. For the wired Cros, the components are the hearing instrument, audioshoe, Cros cord, and offside mic. For the CrosLink, the components are the hearing instrument, audioshoe, CrosLink Transmitter and CrosLink Receiver.
