Versáta Art has 16 channels

How many programs does the product have?

Versáta Art has 3 automatic programs in the SoundFlow Premium (calm, speech in noise, and comfort in noise). There are also 4 Easy Programs (EasyPhone, EasyFM, EasyBluetooth and EasyAudio). EasyBluetooth and EasyAudio are activated when the iCom is grouped with the Versáta Art. In addition, there are 4 additional manual programs that can be accessed through the tactronic switch or the remote control.

What is the program switch design for the product?

Within the CORE collection products program structure (except micro Petite BTE), the default TacTronic switch setting is to toggle between SoundFlow and manual programs. The default start up program as well as the toggle sequence can be modified using the HI option screen.

What are the volume control options?

VC toggle on BTEs (except micros), VC wheel on custom products

Fitting

What is the low battery indicator on the product?  Can it be turned off?

The end of battery life beep cannot be turned off.  The Versáta Art end of battery life process is as follows:

Once a low voltage level is reached, an acknowledgement beep is heard and DataLogging is turned off. This beep is, in fact, 2 beeps separated by 2 seconds. The CORE Collection products are muted in between these two beeps.

As the battery discharge at that state of the battery is very difficult to predict it might well be that after the first “end of battery life” warning the hearing instruments shut off rather fast. But if not so then every 30 minutes a beep will be heard, reminding the wearer to change the battery.

If the battery is not changed and the battery current reaches a critical level, one more end-of-life beep is heard, all manual controls are disabled and the power-down process is started. This process involves a decrease in gain of 5 dB, every 10 seconds.

After this, if the battery is not changed, the Versáta Art will turn off.

How can the door be tamperproofed?

The CORE collection BTE products can be locked, ensuring that the battery cannot be inadvertently removed from the device.  The Versáta Art M, P, and SP size BTE will not be able to be turned off using the battery door once the battery door is locked, turn the screw to the horizontal position to be able to turn the aid off.  The child safety screw has to be mounted by Phonak.  The micro BTE shares the same tamperproof battery battery operation as the Naida models.  The integrated latch to lock the battery is inside the battery compartment.  The latch can be opened with a fingernail.  It locks the battery within the door but not the door itself and thus allows switching off the hearing instrument even though the battery is secured.  On Versáta Art micro BTEs, the tamperproof lock is standard on a non-pushbutton door but can also be added to a door with a pushbutton.

What are the confirmation beeps for the product?  Can they be turned off?

All CORE Collection products offer a range of acoustic acknowledgements, or beeps. These can be changed in terms of frequency and loudness. Within the schematic, beeps are inserted before the gain model, therefore the beep loudness is hearing loss dependant. Limiting (MPO) is applied to and affects the loudness of beeps. Turning the beeps OFF applies only to manual interventions, not to warning beeps such as the start-up melody, end-of-life, different input source (EasyPrograms) and max/min volume. The table below shows the different volume beeps available.

The maximum and minimum volume level beeps cannot be turned off.  The programmed MCL reached and VC up/down beeps can be turned off.

  • SoundFlow:  4 beep melody
  • P1: 1 beep
  • P2: 2 beeps
  • P3: 3 beeps
  • P4: low-high-high
  • EasyPhone: low high short
  • EasyFM: high-low-high
  • EasyAudio: low-high short
  • EasyBluetooth: 5 beeps
  • End of battery life: 1 beep (2 seconds) 1 beep

Can the product be fit with other manufacturer’s slim tubes and domes?

No

Does the product have direct audio input?

Yes, on all BTE models with the exception of the micro Petite model.

Is the product compatible with FM?

Versáta Art BTE’s are compatible with either the ML9i receiver for the M, P, or SP models or the ML12i receiver for the Versáta Art micro BTE.  The AS9 or AS12 audioshoe can also be used with a universal receiver.  All BTEs (except micro petite) and custom products (except petite) can be used with the universal receiver attached to the iCom.  The MyLink will also work with all Versáta Art models with a t-coil (including petite).  The battery door will need to be changed to the FM battery door for use with DAI for the M, P, and SP models.

Is the product available as a Cros/BiCros?

Yes, the Versáta Art M, P, SP and micro BTE can be used with either a wired Cros/BiCros or a wireless CrosLink System.  For the wired Cros, the components are the hearing instrument, audioshoe, Cros cord, and offside mic.  For the CrosLink, the components are the hearing instrument, audioshoe, CrosLink Transmitter and CrosLink Receiver.
