I could talk to my friend, hear the music. Actually at some point I thought that the earplugs don't work because I couldn't hear the difference. I took the earplug out and was shocked. A deluge of Heavy Metal Music overwhelmed me...I put the plugs right back into my ears and enjoyed the concert.
