Bimodal fitting considerations
The Naída Link M and Sky Link M hearing aids can be fit in a bimodal configuration with an Advanced Bionics (AB) cochlear implant (CI) sound processor. The Link M hearing aid enables binaural functions with the CI, including volume control, program structure, and streaming.
Adaptive Phonak Digital 2.0
Adaptive Phonak Digital 2.0 is a new processing algorithm in Phonak Paradise hearing aids.
Feedback threshold overtuning
Feedback threshold overtuning provides the HCP with more control and flexibility in order to achieve the desired high frequency gain.

Designed with artificial intelligence (AI), AutoSense OS 4.0, is Phonak’s automatic operating system that orchestrates all the hearing performance features. Speech Enhancer is designed to enhance the peaks of a speech signal in quiet situations.
Dynamic Noise Cancellation
A spatial noise cancellation feature that works in combination with a directional beamformer to improve the signal-to-noise ratio in challenging situations.
Motion Sensor Hearing
Motion Sensor Hearing adjusts the directional microphone and Dynamic Noise Cancellation settings to the detected activity of the patient.
Soft noise reduction
Soft noise reduction reduces gain for sounds like clock ticking or fan noise.
Tap Control training provides the ability to coach the patient on how to properly double tap to activate Tap Control functionalities, e.g. pause/resume streaming from a connected Bluetooth® device, accept or end calls from a connected iOS or Android phone, and access smartphone’s voice assistant.

The flexibility to offer differ performance levels in a single device is available with Phonak Paradise and Marvel. The ability to change performance levels in Target allows you to address patients’ needs from the first visit or to bridge the gap during repairs.
AudiogramDirect with Remote Support
AudiogramDirect can be used as part of the fitting process to test patients’ hearing directly through their hearing aids. With the Phonak Target 6.2.7 release, this feature is available during a Phonak Remote Support session. AudiogramDirect is designed to check a patient's hearing during a follow-up session, but can also provide a starting point for a new first fitting remotely.
Precise and flexible fine tuning
The precise curve display provides accurate information (e.g., on the applied gain and MPO) while the various fine-tuning tools allow for flexible adjustments if needed.
Unique wireless fitting workflow
Phonak hearing aids with direct connectivity, Target fitting software and Noahlink Wireless provide a complete wireless fitting solution that does not require a body-worn fitting device. Exclusive to Phonak, this combination creates the foundation for a unique wireless workflow. Direct connectivity hearing aids are easily identified by pressing the push button on the hearing aid to visually highlight it in the list of available devices. Hearing aids are assigned and the fitting process continues providing hearing care professionals and their patients a seamless and hassle-free fitting experience.
Automatic download of Target updates
Target automatically downloads new updates in the background without disturbing the fitting process. When settings are saved and Target is closed, a notification is sent that there is a new update available, including an overview of all the new available functions. This also gives an opportunity for thed new update to install.
Automatic selection of experience level
Phonak Target automatically pre-selects the experience level for new fittings by looking at fitting session information, either in Noah or Standalone. This sets the foundation for a more individualized initial fit and leverages all the benefits of the new AutoSense OS for your patients.
Junior mode defaults
Pediatric fittings require a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach. Depending on the age of the child, Junior mode within Phonak Target offers age specific DSL or NAL defaults and hearing aid configurations optimized to meet the needs of children and their families. Junior Mode includes four age ranges: 0-3, 4-8, 9-12 & 13-18 years. (See new DSL & NAL Junior Mode defaults displayed in the table).
The treatment and display of RECD curves and the according measurement conditions are improved in order to simplify usage while complying with the Standard IEC 61669.
TargetMatch is an automated guidance system for real ear and Testbox measurements developed by Phonak in collaboration with Otometrics. It provides you with the benefits of a seamless, step-by-step workflow, guiding you through the process of probe tube placement, obtaining Real Ear and 2cc/test box measurements and automatic or manual target matching. This creates an easy and effective way of incorporating verification into the fitting process.

An effective counseling tool designed to allow patients and their communication partners to experience hearing aids versus no hearing aids, monaural versus binaural hearing and to compare technology levels – all through standard headphones.
Acoustic parameter screen with receiver check
Phonak Target automatically detects and links the sides together when the acoustic parameters are the same. In addition, Target offers receiver check by crosschecking the receiver against what is selected in the fitting software.
This valuable tool is the most convenient way to compare your latest adjustments with previous settings. This unique feature allows you to compare and choose programs from earlier fittings without leaving the session. The first snapshot will be taken automatically after connecting the hearing aids to the software. In fine-tuning, additional snapshots can be taken manually at any time. Using sounds from the integrated media player, you can directly involve your patients in selecting the preferred settings.
The Transfer Settings function enables easy migration of key elements of the previous fitting, across models and product families and software versions from iPFG 2.5 onwards, to the new fitting. Transferred elements include the fitting formula, fine-tuned frequency responses and the customized program structure. It makes the process of migrating fitting settings more efficient, which is useful when upgrading patients to new technology.
Feedback and real ear test
For precise results and a better first fit, individual data beyond the audiogram and the selected acoustic coupling is essential. It is possible to test and evaluate Phonak hearing aids directly in the patient’s ear. The Feedback and real ear test combines the individual feedback threshold, RECD data and acoustic parameter settings to create a more accurate fitting calculation. Additional test equipment is not required.
The hearing care professional can specify a duration in which the gain of the hearing aid automatically increases to a set target gain. The benefit for the patient is that the hearing aid will gradually and comfortably acclimatize, instead of you having to increase the gain session by session. The benefit for the hearing care professional is that is shows you the exact gain level processed by the hearing aid over time.
Test your patient’s hearing directly through any hearing aid fitted in Phonak Target, taking into account the properties of the individual ears and the chosen hearing aids. AudiogramDirect provides a more personalized pre-calculation, leading to less fine-tuning efforts.
Additionally, you can compare diagnostic data obtained in different sessions without having to exit the fitting session. You are able to overlap two curves in the same view for easy comparison and to show the progression of the patients hearing loss over time, a feature that is extremely valuable in the counseling process.
Only Phonak Target provides an interface to show and apply the results of a preceding Phoneme Perception Test (PPT) to improve the individual hearing instrument fitting. It provides a clear indication if optimal high frequency speech hearing is obtained with the chosen hearing instruments.
This is an efficient and focused way to personalize settings to accommodate individual user preferences and listening needs. This approach addresses the need for fine-tuning to specific hearing targets, such as speech, own voice, overall loudness and even individual phonemes crucial for speech recognition and intelligibility. Adjustments affect only gain levels and frequencies, which are relevant to enhance the audibility of the selected stimuli. The areas of modification are highlighted in the curve display as well as in the gain table. With audibility fine-tuning, you can respond to patient needs in a fast and precise manner.
Patient view and second screen
Phonak Target offers a resource to facilitate the counseling process for patients and their communication partners. Information about hearing, hearing loss and products can be presented on your computer screen or on a second display screen. The display option "Real Time Display" is used for tuning and counseling. Speech intelligibility improvements, gain, output, SoundRecover2 and channel resolution can be easily demonstrated, especially with the available stereo or surround sounds. Patient view is accessible within the patient session in the right-upper corner.
The Tinnitus Balance noise generator offers essential tools to support your tinnitus management philosophy. Gain can be muted for manual programs (i.e. for noise generator only use). The use of broadband sound is common in tinnitus management either in the context of masking or sound therapy.
