Inside Audiology no5

Today, we proudly introduce our new Phonak Audiology Blog!

Under, you will find information about the latest topics in audiological research, scientific evidence and clinical best practice as well as an opportunity to interact with the global blog community.

We will be regularly uploading short and easy-to-read blog posts in six different categories: Family-Centered Care, Pediatrics, Evidence, Technology, Clinical Practice and Other. The posts will contain links to more in-depth information, such as journal articles, scientific evidence and interviews for those interested. The blog is also optimized for mobile use, allowing you to keep up to date even on the go.

We hope that you find this new channel useful and look forward to receiving any feedback.

We would be delighted if you would become a contributor to the blog and share your insights and experience with your fellow audiologists. The world of Audiology at Phonak is bustling. Below is just a snapshot of all the good things happening.

Hearing aid adoption is significantly greater when patients attend audiology appointments with a significant other (63.8%) compared to when attending alone (50.6%). For people with a mild hearing loss, it is a staggering 96% higher. Nearly 70,000 patients records were investigated in the recent study "Social Context and Hearing Adoption" by Gurjit Singh and Stef Launer, to better understand the factors of help seeking and hearing aid adoption.
