Phonak assembles thought leaders in eAudiology

Key international experts met with Phonak audiologists and researchers to discuss topics in the up-and-coming field of eAudiology

Stäfa, Switzerland and Warrenville, Illinois/US –  March 1, 2018 –  Phonak, the leading global provider of hearing instruments and wireless communication solutions, recently invited a group of renowned international experts to Florida for a first research exchange on the topic of digital transformation in audiology. The main goal of the meeting is the development of a consensus paper for hearing care professionals in clinical practice.

The meeting, chaired by Professor Joseph Montano, brought together audiology experts from around the world to develop key elements of a consensus document pertaining to the implementation and practice of eAudiology.

Over the course of two days, the invited experts discussed digital transformation in audiology and hearing care providers’ perceptions of eAudiology. The experts were informed about the Phonak portfolio of digital solutions and identified ways to support the field in integrating new technology solutions into clinical practice.

“Discussing the evolving role of digital transformation in audiology with and eliciting feedback from thought leaders in this field was of paramount interest,” says Dr. Christine Jones, Vice President of Audiology, Phonak US. “It also greatly helped to identify ways in which hearing care professionals can integrate eAudiology solutions into their practice as a means to increase the value of their services and enhance patient care.”

The consensus statement on eAudiology is planned to be published in September.
