Q: Is the app free?

A: Yes.

Q: The app will not start the pairing procedure and remains on the starting screen. What should I do?

A: 

  • Check the smartphone and its operating system (OS). The app requires Apple iOS 7 or 8, or on Android 4.0 or higher.
  • Make sure the Bluetooth is enabled on the phone.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the app, and try again.

Q: How should my client pair the app to a streamer?

A: Step by step instructions on how to pair the app will appear after the app launches. Please also see the user guide for additional instructions.

Note: The streamer needs to be connected once to Phonak Target and the remote control functionality needs to be enabled on the streamer.

Q: Are there additional pairing steps needed to use the app with an iPhone?

A: In addition to the app pairing process, your iPhone also needs to be paired to the Phonak streamer.

Make sure the Phonak streamer is in pairing mode. In your iOS settings, select Bluetooth and choose your [Device name] from the list.

Note: Compatible iPhones are 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6+.

Q: Does the RemoteControl App have to be paired to the hearing aids?

A: No. The App must only be paired to a Phonak streamer like ComPilot II or ComPilot Air II.

Q: Does the app need to be programmed with the Phonak fitting software?

A: No. A client can download and use the app at any time

Q: Can a client connect one streamer to more than one phone running the Phonak RemoteControl app?

A: No. A Phonak streamer can only be connected  to one Phonak RemoteControl App at a time.
